The Osborne High Scholars Bowl team finished out the first half of their 2023/2024 season in a magnanimous way. Osborne took first place, going undefeated, at the varsity meet hosted by Hill City, Monday, December 4 and Thursday, December, 14, Junior, previously mentioned to be a senior, but we get to keep him a little while longer, Wyatt Wilson, Sophomores Mary Carlin and Jayla O'Leary, along with Freshmen Porter Choate and Aiden Nicholson earned the gold medal at the Lincoln Junior Varsity do it yourself Scholars Bowl. This JV Scholars Bowl was a bit different than most. Each participating team brought three rounds of questions for the meet. Thus each team competed in five rounds and each team asked the questions, timed, operated the buzzer system, and kept score for three rounds. It gave the team members a chance to be on the other side of the buzzer system. The students liked the format and there were only a couple of repeated current event questions. Porter Choate earned the most points for the team at this JV meet. With Christmas coming soon and the first semester of school wrapping up, the Scholars Bowl team will take a respite until 2024. So congratulations to the OHS Scholars Bowl team on their great finish in 2023. Hope you have a Merry Christmas, in which you celebrate who the Wise Men (Magi) celebrated, and a blessed start to the New Year. Go Dogs!!
