Tues., February 28, the Osborne Junior High scholars bowl teams traveled to Hill City for a large, ten team round robin meet. Besides Osborne and Hill City, teams from Stockton, Palco, Trego, Norton, Smith Center, Phillipsburg, Ellis, and Plainville competed by grade-level for top honors in the divisions. Students representing OJH at the meet were eighth graders: Saralyn Barfield, Porter Choate, Leah McKelvey, Claire Mick, Aiden Nicholson, and Abbigail Spurgin. OJH seventh graders playing at the meet were: Deecon Dill, Klaire Eilert, Olivia Mans, Carson McKelvey, and Camrun Taylor.
In the eighth grade division of the meet Osborne results by round are as follows:
OJH - 80 vs Smith Center - 70
OJH - 90 vs Phillipsburg - 30
OJH - 90 vs Hill City - 30
OJH - 80 vs Palco - 10
OJH - 70 vs Ellis - 30
OJH - 80 vs Plainville - 30
OJH - 65 vs Stockton - 40
OJH - 45 vs Norton - 50
OJH - 80 vs Trego - 60
OJH players’ total correct answers during nine rounds of play were: Choate - 45; L. McKelvey - 11; Nicholson - 10; and Barfield - 3.
Osborne’s eighth graders finished the day with an 8-1 win/loss record in the division which was enough for the team to bring home gold medals. Finishing in second and third place, respectively, were Smith Center and Norton.
Osborne’s seventh graders played nine rounds in their grade division with the following results:

By virtue of their 9-0 win/loss record, Osborne placed first at the meet in their division. Second and third place teams were Hill City and Ellis, respectively.
The Osborne teams compete in their final meet of the season when they travel to Stockton on Tues., March 7, for a 4:30 p.m. meet.
